The first edition, published in 1992, is now becoming out of date. The new edition will update all the topics where there has been progress in recent years, whilst emphasis on the physical significance will remain. Two completely new chapters will also be included, one on Area Coverage and Planning Tools and the other on Multipath Mitigation Techniques. Consideration will be given to reducing the length of the chapter on Noise and Interference, since noise is not a limiting factor in modern systems.
