Like the greater world, physical activity and sport in secondary school are in a constant state of flux. Whether it’s because of changes in game rules, changes in preferred techniques, changes in curricula, or changes in funding, the one thing that physical education teachers can count on is having to struggle to keep up with what—and how—they should be teaching.
With this sixth edition of Physical Activity & Sport for the Secondary School Student, the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) makes the challenge less daunting. In this edition, teachers, students, and teacher educators will find the cutting edge in skill instruction, practice techniques, and game strategies, all backed up by the latest research in the field. They will also find reams of hands-on tools—assessments, lesson plans, and practice drills—on the accompanying CD-ROM.
Perhaps best of all, readers will find the invaluable tips, tricks, and insights that the contributing authors have accumulated over the many years that they’ve been teaching these sports and activities.
